Krynica Morska

Krynica Morska is a famous holiday resort, well-known not only in Poland but also abroad. Despite being one of the smallest towns in Poland, currently inhabited by approximately 1390 residents, it has been attracting thousands of tourists for the past decades.

What makes Krynica Morska so attractive? One of the factors is certainly the town’s exceptional natural environment: clean air rich in iodine, numerous forest communities and sandy beaches which are an invitation to relax and sunbathe, as well as the Vistula Lagoon which offers perfect conditions for sailors. Fans of water sports will surely appreciate the Lagoon’s largest yacht port and the Windsurfing and Kiteboarding Centre available at the Yacht Club.

The most popular cultural and sports events include regatta organised by the Krynica Morska Yacht Club on the Lagoon. Each year this place is a venue for National and International Sailing Competition.

Thanks to salt springs which have been discovered here, the city is applying to receive the status of a health resort.

It is certainly worth mentioning the lighthouse, which is a highly popular tourist attraction during the holiday season. 26.5 meters high, it is an excellent beauty spot offering a breathtaking view of the sand bar which separates the Vistula Lagoon from the open waters of the Gulf of Gdańsk.

Krynica Morska is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in Poland. The beach here is a long strip of beautifully golden sand, sometimes as wide as a few dozen meters. The town is a part of the Amber Coast, which is a region famous for extracting and processing the real gold of the Baltic Sea, as amber is called here. Specially for tourists, in a nearby town called Jantar are organised family amber collecting events. These are part of a series of open-air events called Amber Summer which are held here every year. Other examples include World Championship in Amber Collecting and beauty pageant Poland’s Miss Amber.

Krynica Morska is a real pearl on the Vistula Sandbar.
